Coating, Deposition and Fouling
Coating or deposition encompass processes where a material is placed on a surface. In particle deposition, small liquid drops or solid particles are put onto a surface. In Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD), chemical reactions on or near a surface create a surface film or deposit.
If the coating is not desired, then it is termed fouling. Proper design and optimization of a deposition systems leads to higher uniformity, better control of deposit thickness and better adhesion. Alternatively, designing to reduce fouling increases device efficiency, lifetime and performance and reduces downtime for cleaning and maintenance.
StreamWise has unique surface chemistry, particle formation and transport software to simulate and optimize such processes. Our software has been extensively validated and used in aerospace, automotive and materials processing industries.
